The CR-P ($7500):
The CR–P was inspired by those beautiful faded amber bursts on the old Gibson archtops.
The 5 piece body binding / purflings are curly maple and ebony. They are left natural and the sunburst colours disappear into the inside perimeter ebony purflings so that at first glance you perceive it to be regular plastic binding, then the warmth of the curly maple does its thing.
Also left natural are the curly maple laminates below the headcap and fret board, and at the front of the headcap and fret board.
The f-holes are bound in maple and ebony and are elegantly subdued under the tops' colours.
The sections of the three piece neck are separated by a sandwich of .040 curly maple between .020 Swiss pear laminates dyed black. This same black laminate is also below the curly maple wrap that extends under the fret board and headcap.
AAA European spruce for the top and AAA European curly maple back and sides.
All hardware, including tuning machines, is gold plated.
The standard finish is the amber burst pictured, but if ordering, it is your choice of all of my finishes, which also include blue burst, yellow-tobacco burst, honey blond, natural or amber toner.
The CR-E ($7500):
The CR-E was designed to have a homogenous look.
The maple bindings, part of the 3 piece maple/ebony purfling/binding setup, are cut from the same piece of wood as the sides, matching up the curl where feasible.
It is available in a natural finish or in a shaded toner only.
All hardware is chrome plated. The 3 piece neck sections are separated by single laminates of .020" Swiss pear dyed black.
Available with AAA European spruce top and AAA European curly maple back and sides.
The CR-I ($7500):
The CR-I is exactly the same as the CR-E except the outer bindings are ebony, with maple/ebony purflings visible from the front and back.
This combination provides for an even colour separation for the standard honey/blonde finish.
The CR-I can also be finished in a light honey toner.
A third option is an amber toner.
CR series options: - Calton Delux Flight Case $550 - Premium quilt on archtop b/s $350
The possibility of accommodating options, not included in the stock price, exists for all models.
