DESCRIPTION:

When Mikaël Springer designed the Seraph, which was the very first Springer model, back in 2009-2010, he wanted a name that would remind of something stellar and high end. The Seraph, as the highest celestial being in the angel hierarchy, seemed to reflect pretty well what he was looking for, but it also conjured up images, of a high-end car model from Rolls-Royce called the Silver Seraph. At some point, Springer wanted to use this reference to produce a guitar that would be his Rolls-Royce one-off top of the line model. The simple idea was to turn this word play into a Seraph guitar on the silver theme.

Springer wanted to eliminate all the plastic from the guitar, and use various combinations of ebony and silver instead. All the ebony parts are handmade and they all have a faceted design, which gives the guitar a very consistent and intricate appearance. All the inlays and purflings are made from French first grade solid .950 silver, and the top is lacquered with 100% pure silver powder. Silver powder has also been sprayed lightly over the entire instrument to add a touch of glitter to the darker ebony parts, without hurting the contrast.

As to the color of the back, Springer thought about some of the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraphs being offered with a two-tone finish, so he decided to go for a darker metallic grey back with a hand painted silver accent stripe, and it seemed logical to pick a genuine Rolls-Royce color for it. It's called Tudor Grey.

Beside these aesthetic features, the Silver Seraph is loaded with Springer's favorite set of pickups, the Häussel 1959 humbuckers, wired '50s style. Together with the jazz style ebony tailpiece, it gives the guitar a very articulate, detailed, piano like tone, with great string separation and a very nice "clean up" when rolling back the volume knobs. The Silver Seraph is a true collector's item, and the most high end guitar Springer has ever built. It is delivered with a little book documenting the steps of its production.

ABOUT THE SERAPH
The Seraph is the guitar that started it all for Springer Guitars. It is the very first one designed with the typical Springer body shape, and as a solid body, carved top, single cutaway instrument, it combines traditional features of legendary instruments of the past with a modern and ergonomic design.
