| | ~ Fargen Amplification ~ Fargen Amplification was founded in 1998 as a creative outlet for an inspired, young guitarist, Ben Fargen. As his collection of gig-worn, vintage guitar amplifiers began to need servicing, he found no local tech, with the touch or the talent he demanded to service them. Armed with the internet, an ROP course in electronics, and as many books on tube amps as he could find, Ben learned the trade; hands on, from the ground up. After a year of mastering the basics, he built a few prototypes, and began gigging with them all over California. Once word got out, custom work followed, and as demand increased, stock models evolved.
Now in its 11th year, Fargen Amplification has progressed from a small one man operation, into a thriving boutique company that ships, custom-built guitar amplifiers to discerning players on three continents. And nowadays, in addition to personally tuning each amp that leaves the shop, Ben also provides world tour, amp support to many of the world's most celebrated guitarists. Fargen delivers all hand wired vacuum tube amplification that exceeds the needs of today's demanding guitarist with a spare no expense attitude towards design and materials. Fargen designs offer a fresh new twist on previous classic configurations and set a new standard that will keep you plugging in and discovering new hidden tones that evolve with your style. "I started Fargen Amplification several years ago with the following goals in mind...building great sounding hand wired tube amplifiers for players that are searching for pure tones, vintage vibe & USA quality. Through the years I have developed a line of amplifiers that continue a tradition of timeless design while moving forward and never loosing focus on continuing to improve all aspects of what Fargen delivers. To accommodate the endless amount of design variations we could never possibly offer in our production models....I have decided to launch the Fargen Custom Shop." - Ben Fargen The Custom Shop represents the highest level of quality. We work with artists to take a sound from within their head and design the hardware to bring that sound to their fingertips. DAG REPRESENTS CUSTOM COMMISSIONS FOR THIS BUILDER! DAG represents custom commissions for Ben Fargen. We can only handle a limited amount per year and they are on a first come-first served basis with typical wait times ranging from 6 to 10 months. If scheduling permits and it's an amp that Ben is interested in building, we will proceed to the next step and have you consulting directly with Ben to work out all the fine details, as well as pricing and deposits, before the build commences. |
