In 2005, three diverse, sometimes difficult, and opinionated minds came together to form HENMAN-BEVILACQUA GUITARS.Each aware of the other’s strengths and weaknesses, they held one common vision. The dream was to fuse minimalism, craftsmanship, art, and old school quality to create the ultimate masterpieces… perfect for the master guitarist, yet with a sly nod to the image conscious connoisseur everywhere.
Two years later.Namm 2007.The new company launched and was quickly hailed as one of the very best newcomers, sealing the fact that with a little blood, a lot of sweat, and an overdose of passion, the creators were on to something.
Graham Henman Co-founder and designer - The Guru
Graham is a veteran commercial director and the co-owner of four production companies and a visual effects company in Los Angeles. In reality he is a minimalist, be it in art or lifestyle. He is the member of the team with the controlled stamina and unending ability to get things done.He is famous for being the quiet in the eye of the storm and his best ideas materialize when he’s backed into a corner. In his case, his bark is very often as bad as his bite.
Paris Henman Co-founder, designer and married to The Guru - The Anarchic Rebel
Paris is a stylist and has a very structured idea of what she does or doesn’t like. Her taste is minimalist in the extreme and she is famous for epic meltdowns if she doesn’t like the color of a particular object. She can’t play a guitar but knows how she wants it to look as an art piece or fashion accessory. In another life she would wish to be Tom Ford or Heidi Slimane, as long as they wore high heels. In this life, she has a film location house, which is usually the home of the bad guy, which suits her fine.
Scotty Bevilacqua Co-founder and master luthier - The Calm, Spiritually Centered Craftsman
In 1991 Scotty stumbled upon a well-respected luthier and became his apprentice.By working side by side with him he inhaled everything his mentor had to offer and slowly began to formulate his own dream of what an electric guitar should be.For fifteen years he quietly built custom one off guitars. He led a team of ghost builders that won the best bass of the year award in 1995 on behalf of Ibanez and built their only American made USRG guitar and USATK bass model lines.Eventually the mentor retired, kicking Scotty’s desire to build guitars as his own art form into high gear. His vision had a more radical slant, incorporating the rich handcrafted quality he’d learned to perfect. Now it was time to start with a blank piece of paper and two trusted friends to design the dream from the ground up.Each aware of the other’s strengths and weaknesses, the ‘family by default’ realized they made up one brain… Henman-Bevilacqua.
Henman-Bevilaqua S1
"The S1 I tried at this company’s poshly decorated booth played beautifully and sounded incredibly clear and ringing. Every aspect of this guitar has been rendered with a great deal of care and precision to create a one-of-a-kind instrument that straddles the line between music-making tool and piece of fine sculpture." - Art Thompson
