~ Henriksen Amplifiers ~

Henriksen Jazz guitar amplifiers and jazz bass amplifiers are for the discerning musician. Their Jazz Amps are small, light, powerful, inexpensive, warmer than Polytone amps or any other amp including tube amps. A Henriksen jazz amp packs sufficient power to play any jazz club in America. Henriksen Jazz Amps provide the warm sound of tube amplifiers in a light, inexpensive, and reliable package.

“Over my lifetime, I have always coveted that sweet, or warm, or dark tone which is ever present in most, if not all jazz player’s recordings. Granted, there are subtleties of that flavor, but all have that special mellow flavor not found outside of jazz.”

“As part of my search, I purchased an old Gibson GA-30, and then a GA-40. While the tone was better than modern amps, they both broke up at too low a volume. In February of 2006 I discovered the Polytone. I located a dealer in Canada who had a Mega Brute and I purchased it. After playing through it, the electronic design engineer in me observed that the warmness was merely a matter of doing what all audiophile equipment tries to do; that is to faithfully reproduce the sound that is input. While the Polytone Mega Brute did have a tonal advantage over all the other amps I have tried, it still had what I can best describe as a cardboard flavor, and tended to breakup at lower volumes than I would expect.”

“It dawned on me one day that I had the ability and experience to design and build my own amplifier that would solve the problem, so I did. And so it came to be that Henriksen, inc. has re-entered the world of electronic manufacturing.” - Henriksen

Henriksen amplifiers are engineered to provide a warm and flat tonal response over the entire range of the speakers response curve, accurately reproducing the acoustic and tonal qualities of the instrument. The secret to tonal variation lies in a true 5 band graphic equalizer that will increase or decrease the output plus or minus 10db in the selected bandwidth. This feature brings the advantage of a recording studio board directly to your amplifier on the gig. Keep in mind that these are "not your father’s tone controls!

Henriksen, inc. was founded in 1980 under the name Henriksen Data Systems, inc. In January of 2006 the name was officially changed to reflect the fact that the company is no longer in the computer market.

Throughout the 80s the company, was engaged in the design and manufacture of telecommunications and data processing equipment. In the 90s they were engaged in the development of database driven web servers.

Today, they have a modest facility located in Evergreen, CO. Their product is manufactured in the USA. They use a modified form of outsourcing to achieve high integrality quality control, purchasing all of the components contained in the JazzAmp electronics and sending them out in kits to a very sophisticated assembly house in Denver. When the boards are completed they test them in Evergreen and install them in their chassis, which are also manufactured at a facility in the Denver area. Henriksen cabinets are currently manufactured in Asheville N.C. using the finest of imported Baltic Birch. Their speakers are made in Eminence KY.

Henriksen performs final assembly at their plant. Each amplifier is play tested with a guitar before it is packaged. This assures the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Henriksen Tweety

Tweety is now available! Initial field reports from guitarists Sean McGowan and Mike Oria confirm, this is a must-have accessory for your JazzAmp!

In the rush to develop an "acoustic amp", many manufacturers are taking their existing amp, using a different speaker and/or slapping a tweeter into the existing box. We tried this, and it just doesn't work. It changes the basic nature of the original amplifier design and is too much of a compromise. So we came up with a better idea..
