Lacey developed the Argonaut as a smaller instrument, making it easier to travel with.

In searching for a name, Lacey turned to his crossword dictionary where he discovered that Argonaut also means traveler. Continuing on this theme, he chose an ancient battle helmet for the headstock inlay. The addition of the full-size humbucking pick-up makes it ideal for working musicians. The smaller 15 inch body packs plenty of punch when palyed acoustically.
