Myka - MadCedar Custom #079

In celebration of the welcoming of master luthier David Myka to the DestroyAllGuitars family, we are thrilled to present to you one of David's modern masterpieces; The MadCedar.

The body is Spanish Cedar, the neck is Madagascar rosewood, and the fingerboard, bridge, and details are ebony. The veneer on the headstock (front and back) is amboyna burl, and the binding is ebony with a rust/black/rust/black purfling. The logo and side dots are copper, and overall it has a very cool look.

The playability is excellent, with it's rosewood neck and ebony board feeling absolutely gorgeous. The scale is 25.5" and it has snap and chime to spare. The body resonates and sustains for a long time, which you can feel against your body, making for a very intimate playing experience. The side thickness of this guitar is 1", with a total thickness at the center of the carve at 1.75". The thin carve lets your body feel the guitar's vibrations, better enabling you to work the guitar, and control the sustain and swell of each note, creating an overall tremendous amount on interaction between the player and guitar.

Tonally this guitar has a lot to offer. The capacitors are a .022 Jensen paper in oil for the bridge pickup and a .022 green metal can Soviet paper in oil cap on the neck. The Soviet cap has this very musical quality to it that's very unique. You can go from a big round, crisp neck tone to that dark, jazzy territory without getting muddy at all. It's a very articulate voice. The bridge pickup is a screamer, with Jason Lollar?s Imperial set, normal wind, and it's capable of some wild overdriven tones with crazy sustain and harmonics.

It's with great pride that we present to you the MadCedar #079
