NOTE: Photos shown here are of the older Tungsten Mosaic 8", a smaller but similar looking amp. The videos also demo the older Mosaic but still give a decent idea of the versatility of this amp.
The Tungsten Mosaic MKII amplifier is based on the 5F1 design, delivering 5 watts with a 6V6 and 9 watts with a 6L6 power tube. It has a volume and a tone knob, two inputs, and comes standard with a 12" Weber T12Q speaker and Mercury Magnetics transformer.
Because this amp is cathode biased, swapping power tubes is just a matter of plugging them in. No re-biasing is ever necessary. Likewise, the preamp section will accept 12AX7, 12AU7, 12AY7, 12AT7 and 5751 tubes which allows a variety of tone options with a simple tube change.
This is a superb sounding amp for guitar, and is pure Chicago blues with a harmonica. The 12" cabinet makes for tight, punchy bass response, while keeping it very compact and lightweight, making this one of Tungsten's most popular amplifiers that works equally well for the home player or as a great recording amp in any studio environment.
Due to the hand-built nature of these amps they are available in limited quantities with a current turnaround time of 3-5 weeks.
