The Versoul amp is a double single ended amplifier. Two cathode biased power tubes are wired in parallel and the amp functions as a class A design. Both tubes have their own master volume control.

Several types of octal socket tubes can be used without adjusting the bias voltage:
V4 tube socket: 6V6, 6L6, 5881, KT66
V5 tube socket: 6V6, 6L6, 5881, KT66, EL34, 6CA7, 6550, KT88

Depending on the tubes used the output power will vary from around 5 watts to around 22 watts.

Several different rectifier tubes can be used on the V6 tube socket: 5Y3, 5AR4, GZ34, 5U4, 5U4G.

The pre-amp section has two channels and several different noval socket tubes can be used:
Tube V1 tube socket: 12AX7, 12AU7, 12AT7, 12 AY7, 12DW7, 5751
Tube sockets V2 and V3: 12AX7 (other tubes may be used but not recommended.)

Channel 1. One pre-amp tube is in use; V1 along with the Volume and Tone control.
Channel 2. Two pre-amp tubes are in use; V1 and V3 with Pre Vol 2. And the Treble & Bass controls.

The Versoul amp has a unique effect loop section which is fully tube driven. Both send and return signals are individually adjustable, therefore effects using line level and guitar level signals may both be used.

A gold anodized chassis made of sturdy 2 mm thick aluminium with welded joints is used. All components are carefully selected and are very high quality. For example, paper in oil and orange drop coupling caps and carbon film resistors are used throughout both the pre amp and effect loop sections. All pots used are military quality PEC pots. The power transformer, output transformer and power choke are made by Hammond. Turret board and point to point construction are used.

Both head and cabinet are made of solid pine with strong finger joints. Front and back plates are made of 1/4" thick birch plywood which makes for a nicely resonating cabinet. The covering is genuine leather and the piping, corner legs and handles are also leather. Each cabinet is equipped with two Celestion AlNiCo Gold 12" speakers, power handling 100 watts. The cabinet has semi open construction, which creates a thick & airy and open sound compared to fully closed or open back cabinets/combos. Pot knobs are rosewood and are inlaid with green abalone dots.

1. FX/Off.  On-off switch for effect loop.
2. Jumper-FX. Jumper position: Send and return jacks are coupled. The signal goes through the effect loop tube section. The send and return level pots and return boost switch can be used. You can use this section as a foot switch controlled pre set option. For example, adjust a desirable volume level to boost your solo parts or attenuate the signal level for the rhythm parts of your playing. The jumper position is recommended to be used only when there are no plugs connected in send or return jacks. FX position: signal cut, if effects are not connected into loop. Therefore you can use your foot switch as a mute switch.

9. Power Soak-Min-Full: A pot adjusting power soak level
10. 4 Ohm-8 Ohm Speaker: A switch for selecting impedance for speaker cabinet, refer to impedance chart
11. Speaker Out: A jack connecting speaker cabinet to amp.
- Speaker jack includes an internal switch, which activates an additional load resistor.
- You may use Versoul amp without a speaker cabinet.
- WARNING: Never unplug speaker cable from cabinet jack when power is on. This damages amp. Only unplug cable from amp's speaker jack.
