Thorell FV Premier
DESCRIPTION:
THIS ONE IS SOLD BUT WE ARE TAKING ORDERS FOR MORE!
Originally commissioned by Frank Vignola, the FV Premier model is the perfect instrument for guitarists seeking versitile and clear acoustic tone not offered elsewhere in the market. Equally at home in a New York jazz club or on stage with David Grisman, this guitar offers an exclusive convergence of gypsy, archtop, and flattop sounds. The Spuce soundboard is hand-carved from a thinner plate than is typical for an archtop guitar, allowing for a lower break angle tension at the bridge and a unique hybrid bracing style (also used on the Thorell Gianina models). The back is carved from a standard 1” thick highly figured Myrtle plate. As a result, this guitar’s sound ranges from very woody and sweet with strong picking attacks to dark and mellow with a light approach. Additionally, there is an overall open quality to the tone that gives the guitar a loud and acoustic feel, though surprisingly feedback resistant.
