Ribbecke Electric Halfling

Ribbecke Electric Halfling
DESCRIPTION:

Destroy All Guitars takes great pride in introducing the newest addition to the line of Ribbecke Halfling Guitars, the Chambered Electric Halfling. Designed with electric blues, rock and jazz players in mind, this evolutionary guitar has, at its heart, a rather sophisticated interior build that is a marriage of archtop and semi-hollow build techniques applied to a body shape that most definitely has some DNA from the mighty Les Paul, the 335, the Testadura and the ES175.

Ribbecke Guitar Corp's Mike Gutsch is the chief designer and builder of the Chambered Electric Halfling.

In the words Tom Ribbecke:
"This is the new Ribbecke Guitar Corp.(RGC) Chambered Electric Halfling guitar. It utilizes technologies of the Testadura instruments from my private practice, in the anchoring of the bridge and tailpiece into a sub top rosewood or wenge block, and has the structure and rock stability at high volume of a true chambered electric. It has the bite and high-end crunch of a true solidbody but has the enhanced integrity and presence in the mids and bass of the Testadura hollow-body. The top and chambering is asymmetrical and if you tap on both sides of the bridge you will hear the octave separation of the chambers. It features a 1 3/4" nut and as 25"scale, has a carbon fiber reinforced neck and a two way adjustable truss rod. It features the laminated headstock as in all Ribbecke products and has a fit and joined maple neck. It has a cedar (we also offer spruce) top which is designed to be slightly microphonic. It is this percussive effect created from this top that truly defines its characteristic sound."

The Chambered Electric Halfling is built in a sandwich style with laminated sides. Pickups are un-waxed Seth Lovers. Controls are stack-pot style and are tone and volume controls for each of the pickups with a standard three way selector switch. These can be ordered in regular non stack-pot controls as well. The jack on the back is another innovative feature. The neck is a bit closer in shape to the traditional Les Paul and Ribbecke intends to offer this instrument in a more typical slimmer(front to back) RGC neck.
