Rock n Roll Relics Sixty-One TV
DESCRIPTION:
Just in from Billy Rowe at Rock ‘n Roll Relics is this incredible playing and sounding “SixtyOne” TV Model in none other than a heavily reliced TV Yellow finish. This guitar captures the sound and attitude of early Leslie West and Santana circa Woodstock, straight through to the raucous power-pop-punk of the NY Dolls and various other Bowery greats.
Its feel and tone are highly addictive which will make this guitar very tough to part ways with. The only consolation is that Billy has honed his craft down to a fine science and is consistently building guitars that are nothing short of spectacular.
The inspiration for the Sixty-one model comes from several places. First off, it's a simple and straight forward guitar with just a volume and tone. This set up can take you wherever you need to go if you play striped down rock n' roll or even country. Being introduced to rock n' roll in the early 70's AC/DC's Angus and Malcolm young became a huge influence on Billy Rowe of Rock n Roll Relics. This is a classic style guitar that can handle both parts lead and rhythm when needed. The easy access to the higher register is perfect for finger licks and also slide, which is something Billy Rowe loves. The last thing is, Billy's very first guitar, bought in 1979, was a used ’61 SG.
