Moriah Black Zadok
DESCRIPTION:
This guitar started out as a custom design order for a friend of the Moriah team who wanted a slanted single cutaway T-style instrument. As the Moriah team went forward with the design concept, they decided to just carve as much as possible in the shape. The only flat areas on the guitar are the peghead surfaces. They placed a steel plate below the bridge pickup to emulate the magnetic field effect around the pickup, which was lost by removing the old "wraparound" tele bridge assembly. The end result is a modern version of this great iconic masterpiece. This guitar will surprise you. It is so simple, but it brings it on.
The Moriah design philosophy, which focuses on simplicity, leads them toward the removal of as many screws and trim devises as possible. They use magnets to hold truss rod and conrtol cavity covers in place, as they are recessed into the surrounding surfaces. Pickups are directly mounted to the body through the bobbin, allowing the trim to be removed.
