Klepper Single Cut #2

New to the DAG collective, please welcome luthier Howard Klepper! Although Howard is famous for his flattop steel string guitars, we are launching with a solid body single cut design that is packed with tone...

"Every guitar I build is a one-of-a-kind, custom instrument. I have no standard model names or numbers. I work slowly; my output is about 10 guitars each year. I build as much as possible from raw materials, including making parts that many builders buy ready-made, such as liner blocks, fretboards, bridges, strap buttons, and purflings. I design and make my own marquetry purflings (the well-known "herringbone" is one example of marquetry). Your Klepper guitar will be truly handmade, by one set of hands: my own." - Howard Klepper

Electronics Explained: The fretboard pickup volume knob pulls out to switch that pickup from series coils to parallel coils. This is a subtle difference; in parallel the sound is a bit lighter, airier. The bridge pickup volume knob pulls out to switch that pickup to single coil. The Tone control knob pulls out to switch the bridge pickup out of phase with the fretboard pickup. It will be out of phase when the Tone knob is up whether it is on single coil or both coils. But if the bridge pickup is on single coil, the phase switch will also switch it between its two coils. When it is on single coil and in phase, the active coil is toward the bridge; when out of phase the active coil is the other.

The wiring is also fully shielded, has star grounding, and separate hardware (strings, bridge, etc.) and electronics grounds that join through a shock-resisting capacitor.
