Chihoe's drive, dedication and passion to build the best T-Style guitar possible, combined with his big-hearted, generous nature, is what led DestroyAllGuitars to his doorstep. We are both very proud and fortunate to have him as a key part of our team.
Filling the shoes of a "T-Style" builder at DestroyAllGuitars is no easy task, in fact, it's a rather tall-order where only the absolute finest would stand a chance. It was after a somewhat lengthy and exhaustive search, while still empty handed, that we stumbled upon Chihoe Hahn at his NAMM 2008 booth. After only minutes of playing on each of about 5 of his 228 models and after several minutes of dialogue with this genlteman, we knew we had found our man, that diamond in the rough, Chihoe Hahn.

The Hahn Model 228
The Model 228 is a modern take on a great design. Chihoe Hahn's goal with the 228 is to build a guitar that is as inspired in its execution as it is in that original, brilliant design.
Every guitar is made with the highest quality woods, metal and paint. Bodies are generally one-piece -- swamp ash or alder. Necks are all one-piece maple and are generally semi-quartersawn or quartersawn.
Every Hahn Model 228 is built entirely by Chihoe Hahn; each edge is sanded, screw is screwed and drop of paint is applied by Chihoe. He cuts every nut and sets up each guitar. Every guitar has a plan before it's built, but each one must be sound and play-tested for days, if not a week or two, before it is considered "finished." Playability and sound are, after all, the ultimate tests of any guitar, boutique or otherwise. |
