~ Nolatone Ampworks ~

Nolatone Ampworks hand builds their amplifiers one at a time using ultimate care and attention to detail to create an instrument that will last a lifetime and deliver tone and feel that will allow you to express yourself in ways you may never have thought possible!

They do this by using only the highest quality parts, well thought out circuit layouts, and impeccable build quality.

Some highlights of the quality you receive with a Nolatone Amplifier:

- Custom wound Mercury Magnetics transformers
- Custom layouts using point-to-point or turret board depending on design.
- Circuit construction performed by U.S. Military trained soldering tech.
- 1 Watt Carbon Film resistors in the audio path
- Circuit components chose for best tone and reliability
- High Quality German made F&T or Sprague Atom Filter Caps in the power supply
- Critical tube positions cushion mounted to for minimized vibration, reducing microphonics and tube reliability issues over time (applies to models 15 watts and above)
- 10 amp Carling switches. Can you say "Ka-CHUNK"?! (applies to our higher power models)
- Switchcraft Jacks

All these things make a difference, and together make a HUGE difference!

Rather than regurgitating the traditional chassis/circuit layouts from popular amps of yesteryear, the people at Nolatone put a lot of thought into how these layouts can be improved:

Nolatone locates their transformers on opposite ends of the chassis for more direct access to lead connections, in addition to creating better balance when carrying the amp. Signal leads and high voltage leads are very well isolated from each other. This minimizes noise and maximizes stability.

Nolatone designs their chassis using CAD software to optimize circuit layout.

Nolatone 22Tango

The 22 Tango is the result of Nolatone's quest for the ultimate small club gigging amp that's also great in the studio. In this they wanted more clean headroom from a pair of 6V6's, sweet, swirly and huge sounding cleans, and at the same time a killer crunchy overdrive with singing lead tones. They also wanted the amp to be lively and responsive to the touch. Nolatone accomplished all of this...

Nolatone Chimey Limey

The CL series amps were developed to deliver the magical bloom, chime, and grind of the coveted British amps from the 60's in more abundance and with higher quality than the currently available offerings from "the big V." And, with the cosmetics and standard color scheme of the CL-15, Nolatone lends credence to the great nostalgic Watkins Dominator of the 50's. The CL-30's dark blue and cream scheme just gush classic British...

Nolatone Junebug

The June Bug started out to be a Tweed Princeton type amp, but in true Nolatone form, she took on a life of her own! A high gain overdrive channel, several modifications to the power supply, and beefier Mercury output iron takes the June Bug to new and exciting places but with plenty of hip vintage vibe on tap...

Nolatone Superbug

The Super Bug was born from requests to make the popular June Bug "giggable." So, not to disappoint, Nolatone set out to satisfy that request, and what they came up with was a kicking grab-n-go beast with remote channel switching, independent volume and tone controls for each channel, and the same great overdrive controls found on the Junebug. This great preamp drives a more powerful output section that can deliver 15 watts with 6V6's or upwards of 30 watts with 6L6's or KT66s (yep, it can run all of these!). All this in a package that weights less than 30lb, and... wait for it...an affordable street price of $1599!..
