Red Plate OpenRange

The OpenRange is another variation of the Red Plate BlackVerb model which has separate Gain, Drive and Level controls for each boost section. Like the core model it combines a traditional tonestack with a smooth overdrive and is designed for the working musician that wants to play multiple styles with minimal setup time. In addition to the great overdrive section of a regular BlackVerb it also has a second overdrive section which is voiced differently. The overdrives are labeled "Edge" and "Body" for a reason. "Edge" does just that - it puts character on the front edge of the note (think new strings on a singlecoil with a cranked preamp tone). The "Body" section is for the creamier blues/fusion tones. The sections can be combined for infinite sustain and over the top distortion tones.

This amplifier is available in two output configurations:
- 1. A Quad of 6L6GC tubes for 100 watts with a 1/2 power switch for 50 watts
- 2. A Quad of 6V6 tubes for 45 watts with an 18 watt swich, with the ability to run a pait of 6L6GC tubes for 40 watts

Like its predecessor, the amplifier features a 6 way mid Q (MODE) switch that ranges from a scooped "country" tone to a full on fat "fusion" tone, Mid Boost/Tweed Boost, partial stack bypass preamp boost, pull for Deep on the Middle control knob, two rear panel voicing switches (Humbucker and smooth compression) and built in serial effects loop (which adds to the tone even when no external effects are used). The OpenRange comes with a 4 button footswitch (Tweed, Edge, Boost, Body). The OpenRange is available as a head or 12 inch combo. Other controls: 2 way bright switch, full tone stack bypass, Body overdrive shift, Body overdrive hi cut and presence bypass.
