Reeves Guitar Cabinets

DESCRIPTION:

All Reeves cabinets are constructed of finger jointed 3/4" marine birch plywood. Our cabinets feature Slot Load Venting for improved bass response, and are available in either 1x12, 2x12, or 4x12 configurations.

Metal inserts are standard on the back panels of every Reeves speaker and combo cabinet. This method ensures a tight and secure panel free of "stripping out" common with just using wood screws.

R1x12W and R2x12W Cabinets:
The Reeves R1x12W and R2x12W extension cabinets utilizes the Port City Wave technology of deflecting internal sound waves of the speaker. How this is accomplished is by using two angled deflecting panels, at the top and bottom of the cabinet, directing speaker back pressure towards the angled slot opening at the bottom of the cabinet. With this type of speaker cabinet configuration you get a much more articulate and "bigger" tone...notes have more detail with better low frequency response.

4x12 Cabinet:
Reeves' loaded 4x12 cabinets feature 300 watts power handling capacity at 16 ohm impedance with Vintage Purple speakers.

Speaker Options:
Speaker options for 1x12, 2x12 and 4x12 cabinets...price is the same for any speaker.

After listening to many current speaker options on the market Reeves felt compelled to offer their own versions of famous models. It would certainly have been easier on them if they just took what ever brand name speaker was out there and put them in the Reeves cabinets, but they found their own speakers to be superior in every way. Tone in the Reeves speakers is much more natural, with a detailed midrange without any "ice picky" textures...very vintage in nature.

- Vintage Purple...modeled after the Fane speakers used by Hi watt in the '70's
- Vintage G12...modeled after the Celestion G12H30

Vintage Purple Speakers:
The Vintage Purple speakers were developed to fill a void in the market place when the Fane speakers that were originally loaded into Hiwatt cabinets in the '70s went out of production. Reeves took an original Fane speaker from a vintage Hiwatt cabinet, and in conjuction with Eminence Speakers refined several prototypes until they replicated that magical tone.

The Vintage Purple 12" speaker is built on a Cast Aluminum frame with a 56-oz. magnet and a 2" voice coil. The advantages of cast aluminum are greater rigidity, superior aesthetics and, since aluminum does not conduct the magnetic field out of the gap, the 'motor' strength is higher and the stray magnetic field lower.
