Rocketfire M1926
DESCRIPTION:
Rocketfire Guitars has put literally thousands of hours into the R&D of creating tone. This has all come about due to Nick Sorenson's supply frustrations since 2004. Whenever he came across something of importance that he felt was missing from his supply chain, instead of accepting it and moving on, he became somewhat of a nut in an all out effort to fill the void and complete the puzzle.
In Nick's words: "It all started with the pickups. Early on in building guitars I was satisfied with what I was using to some extent but I always felt there was a certain raw, raunchy tone in the original vintage Fender instruments that I wasn't hearing in the off the shelf pickups. It's a liveliness you hear in greats like Stevie Ray Vaughan and in the laid back clean tone on 'Hey Joe.' It's a tone that hits you in the gut and grabs your attention. The possibility of re-creating the pickups that produced this sound in-house was the discovery that sparked it all. It debunked the myth that there was some 'voodoo' or magic from the Fullerton plant that just couldn't exist today."
In addition to the pickups Nick has worked very hard at refining every detail of his guitars, from glues, differences in various types of Rosewoods, metal parts and their effects on tone, woods and joints matching beautifully and artistically, the smooth feel of the volume and tone controls and the quality of the jacks, the edges of the fingerboards and frets, the shapes of the contours on the bodies and necks, and most importantly the finishes--100% pure nitro-cellulose down to the wood, and the overall acoustic resonance of the instruments. With a ton of testing (sometimes at 2 in the morning) all in the name of presenting what he believes to be the best in it's class, Nick has truly re-created the Fullerton magic. When you have the opportunity to get your name on his waiting list, you're signing up for a once in a lifetime treat that the world will pass on to generations to come.
The M1926: The M1926 is Rocketfire's best selling instrument, based upon Leo's three pickup crowning achievement. Built with pride, it starts with individually matched and selected handwound pickups. Premium woods are tap tested and finished, one thin coat at a time, in the very best 100% Nitro-Cellulose lacquer, eliminating shortcuts or tone robbing undercoats.
