2009 Artinger Style "AO", with original 1922 Gibson Style "O"
In Matt Artinger's words: "I've always had a crush on the design of the original Gibson style O. The detailed carving and turn of the 20th century styling truly reflect where Gibson's creative energy began to grow during that time period, leading into the era of famous Gibson designer Lloyd Loar."
"I purchased this 1922 model in 2006 with the sole purpose of using it as a creative launchpad to build a 21st century version. Borrowing from the flair of the original, and with other cues taken from the 335, the "AO" one-off has a lengthened 25" scale, a smooth C neck, neck joint placed at the 18th fret rather than the original's 15th, a thinner rib depth at 1.5", F-holes in place of the oval soundhole, and a ringless mounted Duncan 59 Humbucker with hidden thumbwheel controls on the guard. I hope you enjoy the shots, and if you have any additional questions regarding either one of these instruments, please don't hesitate to contact us." -- Matt Artinger
