| | ~ Scott Walker Guitars ~ Scott began tinkering with electronics at an early age. In his early teens he began playing guitar and experimenting with pickups. Fifteen years later he found himself working alongside luthier Richard Hoover, of Santa Cruz Guitar Company, studying acoustic guitar construction. At Santa Cruz Guitar Company he hand carved over 1000 necks. During this time he carved necks for artists such as Tony Rice and Norman Blake. Custom neck carving became his specialty. While mastering every aspect of neck construction he took on other responsibilities as the Shop Foreman. These included all phases of guitar construction, guitar finishing with Nitrocellulose, wood management and tool maintenance.
At this time he began developing an electric guitar for the 21st century. After meeting musician Barry Sless, he began to develop an instrument that had the broadest tonal range available. After five years he opened shop and offered his guitars to the public.
DAG REPRESENTS CUSTOM COMMISSIONS FOR THIS BUILDER! DAG represents custom commissions for Scott Walker. We can only handle a limited amount per year and they are on a first come-first served basis with typical wait times ranging from 6 to 10 months. If interested please call for a preliminary discussion in regard to the guitar you'd like to have Scott build for you. If scheduling permits and it's an instrument that Scott is interested in building, we will proceed to the next step and have you consulting directly with Scott to work out all the fine details, as well as pricing and deposits, before the build commences. |
 | While developing an electronic package to incorporate into these instruments, Scott began working with electronic wizards Peter Miller and John Cutler. The collaboration between Scott, John, Peter, Barry and Mr. Kimock has led to the current design now available as a standard on all Scott Walker instruments. The input from these individuals has been key into unlocking this new frontier in guitar electronics. | | | |

Scott Walker Phoenix
Starting in 2007, Scott Walker and Steve Kimock began discussing the ergonomics of a guitar. How does it sit in your lap? How does it hang on your shoulder? How do the strings present themselves? They came up with the current design. They then began looking at the construction, starting at the neck joint. They looked at bolt on features and took them further by adding an hidden, extended tennon. This gives perfect alignment, stability and tone transfer. The pickups are mounted directly to the tennon for increased resonance... | |
