Smith Custom Amplifiers is a hot new company that is building amps for the touring musician. Established in 2002 in Montgomery, Al., Sammy Smith, started his company with the Smith CS25R after finding the price of blackface amps becoming increasingly expensive. He felt that musicians should have an affordable alternative to the blackface design, that a gigging musician could find affordable, light, and durable, with tone that surpasses the originals.

All Smith Amplifiers are fabricated by Sammy, chassis, cabinets, wiring, are done with the utmost control. The cabinets are #2 grade Southern Pine, chassis are made using 20 gauge Stainless Steel, and wiring is True Point to Point, you'll find no turret or wax boards in these amps. With these features, most customers will find that these designs far exceed the early blackface designs in tone and new and modern advancements. As a result of the Smith Custom construction techniques, many customers are finding that these amps have the feeling and sensitivity of a Trainwreck packed into the guts of a Blackface amplifier.
