Chapin Hawk Hawk- $2599 + options Originally built for Billy Johnson of John Lee Hooker’s Coast to Coast Blues Band, the original Hawk model was designed as a hybrid of the early fifties Fender Telecaster and a early sixties Gibson SG. However, this model has since been expanded into many different directions. Standard specs: Mahogany, swamp ash, or alder solid flat top body, bolt on maple or mahogany neck with 12” radius rosewood fingerboard inlayed with dots/shades, 2 pickup configuration with a 3 way switch. As with all Chapin guitars, pickups are chosen to best bring out the individual tone of each instrument, several of the makers we choose from include: Lollar, Harmonic Design, SK, TV Jones, WCR, or our own Black Dog pickups. 25.5” or 24.6" scale.
