Thorell Grand Custom Arch

The Thorell Grand Custom Arch is a totally custom one of a kind guitar built for the Montreal Guitar Show. The entire guitar was designed around the gorgeous woods that are used here. The soundboard is carved from a single piece of gorgeous Lutz spruce (a newly discovered hybrid between Sitka and Engelmann some of which has measured out to have the best strength to weight ratio of any spruce). The billet was three inches thick at one end!..

Thorell FV Premier

Originally commissioned by Frank Vignola, the FV Premier model is the perfect instrument for guitarists seeking versatile and clear acoustic tone not offered elsewhere in the market. Thorell Sexy Sadie

This Sexy Sadie features a hand selected and aged feather crotch figured Walnut top plate on an Alder body. The guitar is strategically chambered to be weight balanced and resonant.  This guitar is built around the idea of the guitarist that wants to traverse genres as varied as jazz, rock, funk, and country, with full bodied killer tone. With the fattest sounding blade pickup known to man in the neck position and a hot-wired, ultimate Tele tone pickup in the bridge, this guitar, with a simple three-way switch, tone, and volume can pour its beautiful tone on any gig you might encounter...

Thorell Wysteria

This guitar smokes!  It is a full hollow handcarved archtop, that is braced and carved to be greatly feedback resistant. This means you can still get all of the punch on and color that only full carved solid top archtops give, yet you wont have a problem hauling this beauty to an organ gig. It sounds unbelievable through a nice clean tube amp.  It is an inch narrower than a typical Wysteria which aids in its comfort in playing. A warm tobbaco sunburst finish, and  it's contemporary bocote and ebony natural wood appointments, make this is an unapologetic and pinnacle guitar...

Thorell Sweet "E"

Based on the traditional archtop guitar, the Sweet "E" is a direct evolution from the great makers of the genre. The Sweet E has a traditional x-brace. It is a hollow body  acoustic with a full yet dark and lush sweetness across the whole spectrum. The more you dig in the more it responds, yet it is surprisingly good with feedback (because of the finely hand-tuned soundboard) for being a full sized acoustic archtop.  This is a guitar that pushes you with  responsive nuances that just aren't available in lesser instruments. . .

Thorell Sexy Sadie

The Sexy Sadie from Thorell Guitars exhibits Ryan’s first solidbody release. This guitar is built around the idea of the guitarist that wants to traverse genres as varied as jazz, rock, funk, and country, with full bodied killer tone. With the fattest sounding blade pickup known to man in the neck position and a hot-wired, ultimate Tele tone pickup in the bridge, this guitar, with a simple three-way switch, tone, and volume can pour its beautiful tone on any gig you might encounter. It’s body is subtly sculpted from the traditional Tele shape with comfort elements brought in from the Stratocaster like the slanted armrest and the carved back.  Its soft maple burl top and alder body were chosen specifically for its unique quality of bark and warmth...

Thorell Dreadnaught

Dry with a decisive sparkle, clean with a touch of grit, this Dreadnaught is fully balanced. With driving, open rhythms and cuttingly articulate melody lines, it’s a powerhouse both sonically and aesthetically. A tried and true guitar, the Thorell version is flavored with Ryan’s taste for featuring the natural beauty of the raw materials. Adirondack and Sitka soundboards are meticulously fine tuned during the building process and Adirondack braces are applied with hide glue for superior tonal qualities...

Thorell Gianina

The Gianina was born out of a commission and a desire to create a guitar that combines the drive and thump of an archtop, the warmth and depth of a nylon, and the breathy throaty sustain of a Selmer-Maccaferri. The result is amazing! With a unique bracing and graduation technique that Ryan Thorell developed, the tone is an exciting extraction of the above guitars.
