Two-Rock Classic Type 3 The Two-Rock Classic Type 3, a descendant of the Kimock, is a dual channel amp that specializes in the dialing up and dishing out of some extremely powerful piano-like punchy clean tones as well as giving us the widest selection of end-all lead tones to ever come from one amp. By implementing any one, or any combination, of it's on board FET boost, gain control, EQ boosts and tone-stack bypass, both channels allow you to dial in levels of distortion, ranging from the slightest bit of grit on through to stunning classic overdrive and in the case of the lead channel, even super saturated metal. The clean channel will go from punchy clean with a ton of attitude and authority to gritty Tweed or full-on screaming Tweed, to roaring JTM45 tones to the hot-rodded Marshalls of the 80s. The Lead Channel takes off where the clean channel stops and will give you everything from screaming a full tilt Hot Rodded 50 Watt Marshall to over the top super saturated pure molten metal as well as giving you the ability to sculpt smooth singing infinite sustain type sounds. What ultimately sets the Type 3 apart from the others is that every sound it produces has a huge sonic footprint larger than what you've come to expect from any amp. This is Godzilla compared to the Geiko Gecko. What's new in the Classic Type 3, is most importantly a new Dual Tube (GZ34) Rectified output section with a new choke and tranny, as well as negative feedback controls that allow you to tighten or loosen the overall feel of the amp at strategic points in the signal path. The lead channel features an externally adjustable input gain trim control, allowing the player to select smooth overdriven tones or add more attack and bite if desired. The presence control has been eliminated and a contour control has been added. At the twelve o’clock position, the amp’s frequency response is flat. Rotating the knob counter-clockwise, will decrease the highs and increase the lows, and vice-versa for clockwise movement. This is ideal for switching between single coils and humbuckers without touching other controls or compensating for different speaker cabinets. It’s also a great way to compensate for room acoustics without changing your entire preamp EQ. The Classic features Preamp Out and Power Amp In jacks, and does not have an internal buffered loop. Additional tone shaping features include a footswitchable FET preamp stage, 3 way preamp (negative) feedback switch, and 3 way output section (negative) feedback switch. The preamp switch offers zero feedback, CR feedback level, and ultra hi feedback levels for high output or active pickup optimization. In addition, the output stage can be tailored via a 3 way feedback switch to make the power stage tighter, looser, or more open and responsive. Another major tone shaping feature is the abilty to run in Low Power (Class A) or in High Power (Class A/B) with the Low Power setting adding some real attitude with an "on the edge of destruction" vibe.
