| | ~ Verrilli Guitars ~ Frank Verrilli is originally from Bridgeport, Connecticut. He has been a full time artist for over 20 years. Initially in his career he worked exclusively in wood, carving both relief and three dimensionally. He later began doing pieces in stone and bronze as well. About mid career he also began painting. So his background is a bit different than some other guitar makers.
About 12 years ago he was given a commission to carve on a guitar, and since he also plays a little he thought he'd make one for himself. About the same time he started appreciating vintage tube amplifiers, and soon he became hooked on the process of building a guitar that would incorporate his sensibility of design and also function well. Looking at his artwork one can see certain principles that he naturally would apply to his guitars. Aside from his intricate carvings he does on some of the bodies he's come up with some very distinct features. DAG REPRESENTS CUSTOM COMMISSIONS FOR THIS BUILDER! DAG represents custom commissions for Frank Verrilli. We can only handle a limited amount per year and they are on a first come-first served basis with typical wait times ranging from 6 to 10 months. If interested please call for a preliminary discussion in regard to the guitar you'd like to have Frank build for you. If scheduling permits and it's an instrument that Frank is interested in building, we will proceed to the next step and have you consulting directly with Frank to work out all the fine details, as well as pricing and deposits, before the build commences. |
| Verrilli relies on a lot of "relicing" techniques to add to his earthy and organic style. "I like a guitar to look like it's alive, and has some character, having a comfort and looseness about it that makes it very approachable, so you want to hold it and play, and not have to worry about scratching it. Its sort of a work in progress that gets better with time. | |

Verrilli Black Humbucker
The Verrilli Black/Humbucker Aged Guitar is a classic black nitro aged guitar which has a mahogany neck with ebony board and a black headstock face. What's also different here is a nicely aged or reliced body with humbucker pickups (or the combination of spliting the coils and mingling them with single coils. Keep in mind the very popular fender relic market still restricts itself to imitating vintage looks, ie: never using humbuckers on a guitar they are relicing..

Verrilli Blond T
The Verrilli T style guitars are extremely resonant when you combine the fat neck with the single piece light weight body and thin nitro finish. The wooden pickguards have a subtle effect on the tone (much more noticeable acoustically). What you'll hear is a warmer more organic tone, especially depending on how and where you pick. Some other important features which are on most Verrilli guitars are the rolled neck edges and softened fret ends..

Verrilli Flagcaster
The Verrilli Flagcaster is hand carved with a shallow relief and painstakingly finished with nitro cellulose. The problem is cutting in with different color paints in carved areas can't always be sprayed on, so Verrilli mixes a retarder in the lacquer to be able to brush it in only certain places..
