~ Victor Baker Guitars ~

The main attribute that separates a Victor Baker instrument from others is the fact that they are made by a professional player with a musician's sensibility. Victor Baker has studied jazz guitar for over 20 years, has performed thousands of gigs in various venues and actively maintains a busy playing schedule. He holds a BA in professional music from Berklee College and has studied privately with Jazz legend Pat Martino. He is a player first and foremost and brings a musician's sense of what a guitar should be into his shop. He builds on a very limited basis and relies on his experience as a professional musician in shaping the way the instrument plays and sounds. These are the very qualities that make Victor Baker and his instruments a perfect and natural fit at DestroyAllGuitars where it is the artists and their creations that drive the company.

DAG REPRESENTS CUSTOM COMMISSIONS FOR THIS BUILDER!
DAG represents custom commissions for Victor Baker. We can only handle a limited amount per year and they are on a first come-first served basis with typical wait times ranging from 6 to 10 months. If interested please call for a preliminary discussion in regard to the guitar you'd like to have Victor build for you. If scheduling permits and it's an instrument that Victor is interested in building, we will proceed to the next step and have you consulting directly with Victor to work out all the fine details, as well as pricing and deposits, before the build commences.

" I feel that some guitars (and most factory made ones) are lacking in that special feel that a good luthier who plays himself knows instinctively. I know what is important to a player and what is not. To me it's the guitarist who is the one that finally breathes life into the guitar. For that reason I usually take each new instrument out on one or several of my own gigs, recordings or rehearsals to give it the final test. I make new adjustments from things I notice there. Guitar making is a very personal creative outlet for me. I strive to make fine instruments for professional and aspiring players for a reasonable and accessible price. Above all else, I make them to be played." - Victor Baker
