~ Wendler Electrocoustic ~

The Wendler Electrocoustic is inspired by the tonal subtlety and beauty of the acoustic steel stringed guitar, and the practical application of simple engineering in a fully electric solid body instrument. You will find a dynamic impact just not available in other acoustic/electric designs, with a touch of nuance that needs to be experienced first hand. All of this comes in a reasonably priced, super lightweight package....with the focus on performance and playability rather than exotic woods or overly complex pickup schemes. Simple and highly effective.

Weighing in at just under 5 lbs, the Wendler CJ series, have a simple but beautiful flat finish on a truly unique shaped body with necks whose action will rival that of any top line solid body electric. They are the marriage of old school art-deco era looks with a futuristic approach to creating and shaping sound. Their unique body shape along with their revolutionary pick up system is responsible for giving them incredible amounts of sustain and their great acoustic qualities. Within minutes of plugging them in one can dial in the sounds of your favorite 3K to 5K acoustic electrics. You can play these through any guitar amp as they respond like true solid body electrics but sound like top of the line acoustics and archtops. Volume is no longer a problem as these instruments do not have the feedback issues that other electric acoustics are plagued with. You can run them through pedals and high gain amps and create a new world of sounds to work with. Incredible tools for both the live and studio musician.

Dave Wendler started fixing guitars while still in high school during the 1960's. By the late 70's he was repairing stringed instruments full time, gaining major experience on violins and steel string acoustic guitars. Recognizing a need for an ACCURATE acoustic guitar pickup system, he developed, patented, and produced the "Dynafield" pickup, a low-impedance magnetic soundboard device. Several thousand of these were sold to such customers as Alvarez-Yairi and the CF Martin Co. By 1996, Dave was working as the chief quality control engineer in Peavey Electronic's main guitar plant at Leakesville, MS. Five years ago the "electroCoustic" project got off the ground, and more than 115 guitars, basses, violins, and mandolins have been built to date. Dave works as a one man shop, covering sales, manufacturing, day to day business, and most importantly, design.
