DESCRIPTION:

Made in the USA, this guitar features a bound top with a beautifully aged surf green nitro lacquer finish on a lightweight swamp ash body. The guitar weighs in at 6 lbs 14 oz so it's a very light weight for a Coodercaster with tons of sustain & great balance.

Those of you familiar with Coodercasters know that the design of these old Valco-style lap steel pickups typically results in a middle position where three strings are in-phase and three are out. Watsreslide has worked with Mojo to come up with a solution to that problem so all Waterslide Coodercasters with Mojo UK lap steel pickups now feature a new switching system which allows all six strings to be in-phase with each other when both pickups are on.

The maple neck has a pau ferro fingerboard and a chunky "C" profile (.87" - .97") with a 25.5" scale length that's 1.68" at the bone nut with a 10" radius and 6105 frets. It has a light, slightly aged satin finish that feels great and will not get sticky when playing.

The bridge pickup is a Mojo UK Valco-Style lap steel pickup which is very fat sounding with tons of sustain and punch. These are uniquely sensitive pickups which nail the vintage character and tone of the original design. Primarily used by slide players like Ry Cooder, Jason Isbell and Blake Mills, these lap steel pickups have a special magic with open tunings and bottleneck playing.

The neck pickup is a Mojo UK Kleenex Box which is a recreation of a vintage Kay design used by Barney Kessel. It's got an alnico V magnet and is hand wound with 43awg wire inside of an acrylic cover that looks like a vintage Kleenex box, just like the original Kays. It's a bit more midrange focused with less high end than a standard Teisco Gold Foil. It holds its own with the lap steel pickup and provides a nice complement, tonally.

The chopped Tele bridge is custom machined for Waterslide and is made from 304 grade non-magnetic stainless steel. This bridge can also function as a top loader if you want to experiment with tone & string tension. The brass saddles are Gotoh In Tune saddles which are notched and compensated for accurate intonation.

There's also Emerson audio taper pots, an Orange Drop .047 cap and cloth covered wiring. The vintage HiFi knobs and brass selector switch tie it all together.
