DESCRIPTION:

Made in the USA, this guitar features a beautifully aged Dakota red nitrocellulose lacquer finish on a lightweight alder body. The guitar weighs in at 7lbs 6oz so it's a nice light weight for a Coodercaster with tons of sustain & great balance.

Those of you familiar with Coodercasters know that the design of these old Valco-style lap steel pickups typically results in a middle position where three strings are in-phase and three are out. Waterslide has worked with Mojo to come up with a solution to that problem so all Waterslide Coodercasters with Mojo UK Lap Steel & Gold Foil pickups now feature a new switching system which allows all six strings to be in-phase with each other when both pickups are on.

The  maple neck has a '60s medium C profile (.85" - .95") and a 25.5" scale length that's 1.65" at the bone nut with a 10" radius and 6105 frets. It has a light, slightly tinted & aged satin finish that feels great and will not get sticky when playing. Tuners are vintage-style Gotohs.

The bridge pickup is Mojo's brand new 'Valco-Style' lap steel pickup and bridge combo which is an all-in-one bridge/pickup unit similar to the '50s Supro Ozark guitars. Very fat sounding with tons of sustain and punch, these are uniquely sensitive pickups which nail the vintage character and tone of the original Valco design. Primarily used by slide players like Ry Cooder, Jason Isbell and Blake Mills, these lap steel pickups have a special magic with open tunings and bottleneck playing.

The neck pickup is a Mojo UK reissue of a Guyatone Gold Foil pickup from the '50s housed in a Teisco-style casing. It's a bit fuller sounding when compared with a Teisco Gold Foil, with a stronger midrange. It holds its own with the lap steel pickup with a sweet top end and bite that provides a nice complement to the bridge pickup, tonally.

There's also Emerson Audio taper pots, a NOS Russian oil in paper cap, cloth covered wiring, Switchcraft jack, metal switch tip, vintage cupcake knobs and old-school celluloid pickguard to tie it all together.

Demo video was recorded straight into GarageBand so no amps or pedals were used.
