In Frank Verrilli's words: "Here is another of my 3 humbucker guitars, which like my others allows you to explore all the ranges of humbucker sounds, and still get a single coil sound when you want it. I find Fralins Unbuckers solved that riddle best. These are a custom set Lindy has helped me put together with the neck and middle "Unbuckers" splitting with the the push/pull pots - a total of 11 different positions. A lot of thought was given to the output, magnets, polarity, etc.
"The neck has a Honduran mahogany back with an ebony board. This influence's the tone greatly, and gives it a distinct, solid, punchy sound, very articulate (not like malple and not like rosewood, kind of in between... kind of). As with all my necks, the back of the neck is sanded and properly oiled to get even better with time.
"Something about the look of the red mahogany against the black headstock face, the aged satin black against all that oxidized hardware, the heavy rolled fretboard edges on the black ebony board, etc...really seems to make this more utilitarian looking and the favorite weapon of choice."
